AlaskaMama's Book Club

What Real Alaskan Women Read

It is back to work. So what better thing to do than stall out on work and post to our Alaska Mama's book club. Actually my excuse is valid, as I make it a point to stay off the computer during holidays. I spend enough time already in front of the screen.
So I took the time to finish the book Eat, Love , Pray.
As I mentioned in my email, it was good enough to make me want to look for God. That is quite a feat.
I also marked out some of my favorite lines (there were many.) So when you come across them take a look at their context.
"If you sit down with pure intention, no matter what happens next , it is none of your business." "Why are you judging your experience."

"Instead of forcing thoughts away, give your mind something healthier, like love."

and finally to drive the nail in,
"Your job, should you choose to accept it, is to search for divinity with any metaphors, rituals to help you get closer.... to divinity."

and in case we panic:
"The best thing we can do is to practice holding equilibrium internally no matter what insanity is transpiring out there."

So a trip to Bali? Hmm? How about a Yoga retreat in Talkeetna? Hmm..
